Qualifications

We have been advocates for the (NAMI) National Alliance for the Mentally Ill for 8 years. We are parents of a person with a mental illness, we have been facilitators of the Family to Family education program which teaches family members about mental illness for 6 sessions. Carol works with people with disabilities as a job coach. Carol has worked on the Stearns County Sheriff 's Water Patrol for 9 years and Jim and Carol are members of a police bagpipe band. We have lived in the St. Cloud area for 21 years and have done much volunteer work in the St. Cloud area including Boy Scouts, religion teacher, bell ringers for the Salvation Army, and fund-raisers for NAMI. Carol has been a substitute teacher, especially in Special Education in the St. Cloud School Dist and the area schools surrounding St. Cloud for 13 years. Carol has also worked as a supervisor in a group home for adolescent girls with mental illnesses, has been a speaker for the NAMI Adolescent Speakers Bureau which teaches about mental illness in the area schools. Carol started and was captain of the neighborhood crime watch in their area.
